The Ministry of Justice and Security plans to extend a ban against controversial imam Fawaz Jneid, which bans him from the Transvaal and Schilderswijk districts of The Hague. The situation around Jneid and his teachings have not changed, which is why the ban will be extended, NOS reports.

The municipality of The Hague believes that Jneid contributes to the radicalization of young people in the city. According to the municipality, the ban leads to less unrest in Transvaal and Schilderswijk.

American preacher Steven Anderson will not be allowed into the Netherlands and the rest of the Schengen area, State Secretary Mark Harbers of Justice and Security said on Wednesday in response to parliamentary questions. According to Harbers, the government is "taking strong action against extremist speakers who, by spreading their beliefs, restrict the freedoms of others or even incite hatred or violence", NOS reports.

Speakers arranged for a controversial gala of Muslim imams were stripped of their visas to enter the Netherlands do to the "risky" nature of the event, and to protect Muslims, the National Counterterrorism Coordinator wrote in a letter to Parliament. The event was scheduled for March 8th in Rijswijk, but was cancelled by organizers who said the unfair depictions of their group in the media made it impossible to hold their gala.
