Dutch movie museum EYE releases rare color footage from World War II, surrounding Liberation Day 70 years after the liberation of Deventer. The film "How we saw the Netherlands" is filmed by Alex Roosdorp and his wife Marie Roosdorp - van den Berg and depicts ravaged towns, destroyed infrastructure and food plains after the Second World War, EYE reveals on their website.

American Graduate student Jeff Nichols uncovered lost footage of the SS Eastland disaster in the archives of Amsterdam film institute EYE. Nichols found the film clips Thursday on an EU-funded website. The clips from the incident were lodged between other news items on a digitized Dutch newsreel.

Theo van Gogh fans will be able to see all 13 films he made at Amsterdam's EYE Film Museum from the 10th of October onwards. In this retrospective, some of the more negative thinking about the filmmaker, known for his criticism of Islam, is hoped to be dispelled and replaced with respect for Van Gogh's passion as film maker and film lover.
