The Noordbrabants Museum bought a Van Gogh painting titled Still life with bottles and shell from a private individual abroad for 2.5 million euros, the museum announced on Wednesday. This is the third painting by Vincent van Gogh that the museum in Den Bosch bought in as many years.
An explosion caused major damage to an apartment on Amsterdamstraat in Den Bosch during the early hours of Tuesday morning. The police believe someone left an explosive in front of the apartment's door, Omroep Brabant reports.
The explosion could be heard in large parts of Den Bosch around 2:00 a.m. It shattered the apartment's window, destroyed a rain pipe, and damaged the door.
No one was injured. The resident was watching TV on the other side of the apartment when the explosion happened. His dog was lying near the door, but also escaped unharmed.
The police raided at least 15 locations in the south of the Netherlands on Monday morning as part of an ongoing investigation into drug production and trafficking. Six people were arrested, ANP reports.

NS is launching an experiment with a travel planner app that will help travelers find a seat on a busy train. The app, called zitplaatszoeker, shows with the colors green, yellow, or orange how likely you are to find a seat on which cart of the train, RTL Nieuws reports.

A crane hit a railway bridge on Bosscheweg in Tilburg on Monday morning, causing train delays between Tilburg and Den Bosch throughout the day. The crane driver, a 35-year-old from Riel, injured his neck and was taken to hospital for examination, Eindhovens Dagblad reports.
The collision damaged the bridge to such an extent that NS decided to close one of the two tracks running over the bridge. Trains can use the other track across the bridge, but only at a reduced speed of 60 kilometers per hour.
