The police took DutchMagic, the largest coffeeshop on the dark web, offline at the end of last year, the police said on Thursday. A 42-year-old man from Hoensbroek in Limburg is in custody and more arrests are expected.

According to the police, millions of euros in soft drugs were sold through DutchMagic per year. The transactions were paid for with cryptocurrency and the drugs were sent through the regular mail.

The police found a hand grenade at a coffeeshop on Brouwersgracht in Amsterdam on Sunday morning. The Ministry of Defense's explosive clearance department disarmed the explosive at the scene and removed it.

The explosive was left at coffeeshop Siberia, according to Het Parool. A police spokesperson would not make any statements to the newspaper about why the grenade was left there.

Coffeeshop New Times on Spuisstraat in Amsterdam was closed by request of the municipality after two hand grenades were found there over the weekend. The coffeeshop agreed to close for a week, after which the municipality will decide whether further closure is needed, AT5 reports.

The first hand grenade was found near a parking garage at New Times early on Saturday morning. The second was found on the pavement in front of the coffeeshop at around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday. Spuistraat was closed down for several hours on both days, while explosive experts removed the grenades.

As rush hour came to a close Monday morning in the Dapperbuurt, the Amsterdam Oost neighborhood largely felt like it had returned to business as usual. With smiles on their faces, the regulars streamed into Cafe Kuijper for their 9 a.m. coffee even as renovation crews were hard at work repairing the damage in the neighborhood from a weekend explosion.

A second explosion at coffeeshop Smoke Palace on Linnaeusstraat in Amsterdam Oost on Sunday, seems to be aimed at Mustapha el Y., the brother of Smoke Palace owner Mohamed, Het Parool reports based on information from sources. Mustapha el Y. is on an underworld death list and his own company was targeted in the past, according to the newspaper.

An explosion outside a coffee shop in Amsterdam Oost on Sunday morning prompted officials to evacuate several buildings in the area. The blast was the second to take place near the Smoke Palace in the last six weeks.

No injuries were reported in the immediate aftermath on Linnaeusstraat, were the incident took place.

Multiple Amsterdam businesses received an email threatening them with hand grenades or shootings if they do not pay 50 thousand euros in bitcoins to the sender. The police confirmed that multiple reports of this email have been received and they are investigating, AT5 reports.

The email, which is in the possession of AT5, was sent to at least three coffeeshops and Club ABE on Amstelstraat since May this year. The writer refers to the municipality of Amsterdam's policy to close businesses after a shooting or an explosive was found there.

Amsterdam has to participate in the national experiment with regulated cannabis cultivation. If the Dutch capital, with the largest coffeeshop market in the Netherlands, does not participate, the experiment will fail, mayor Femke Halsem said in a city council debate on the issue on Thursday, Het Parool reports.

A man who was taken to hospital in Zoetermeer with a gunshot wound on Monday morning, succumbed to his injuries, the Public Prosecutor confirmed. The police are investigating whether this man is a suspect the police shot at in Delft on Monday morning, a spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor said to NU.nl.

Amsterdam finds the national experiment with regulated cannabis cultivation unfeasible and "risky to public order". The municipality would like to participate in the experiment, but only with other rules, mayor Femke Halsema said in a letter to Ministers Ferdinand Grapperhaus of Justice and Security and Bruno Bruins for Medical Care and Sports, NOS reports.

If it is up to interim mayor Jozias van Aartsen, Amsterdam will not participate in an experiment with regulated cannabis cultivation. According to him, the situation in the Dutch capital deviates too much from that in other municipalities, Het Parool reports.

The police arrested three suspects on Wednesday in connection with recent  attacks in Delft. The three are suspected of involvement in a shooting on Peperstraat, hand grenades exploding on Peperstraat and Breestraat, and a shooting on Beestenmarkt. Two homes in the region were also searched, AD reports.

The suspects are currently in restricted custody and the police can therefore not release any more details about the investigation and arrests, a spokesperson for the police said to the newspaper.

Shots were fired at two coffeeshops in Delft early on Thursday morning. The shooters targeted coffeeshop The Future on Peperstraat - which was also shot at last week - and coffeeshop The Game on Breestraat, around the corner, AD reports. 

The police responded to reports of loud bangs heard on Peperstraat around 5:15 a.m. Multiple bullet holes were found in the windows of The Future and Kobi's Grill. Dozens of holes can also be seen in an adjacent apartment building, according to the newspaper.

Multiple shots were fired on Peperstraat in Delft during the early hours of Tuesday morning. Witnesses report seeing at least 25 bullet shells on the street. As far as is known, no one was hurt.

The police received a report of the shooting around 4:00 a.m. According to Omroep West, bullet holes were found in the facade of coffeeshop The Future and tanning salon Sun Style. The two businesses are across the street from one another.

At least 20 shots were fired at coffeeshop De Jungle on Kromstraat in Oss, Noord-Brabant during the early hours of Friday morning. The coffeeshop was closed at the time, and as far as is known, no one was injured, Omroep Brabant reports.

The police responded to the scene around 3:30 a.m. Officers found multiple bullet holes in the coffeeshop's roller shutter.

The area around the coffeeshop was closed down and the police are investigating.

A burnt out BMW was found on De Louwstraat in Schaijk some time later. Whether this is related to the shooting is not yet clear.

Rotterdam plans to soon start growing its own "municipal weed", mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb said on Wednesday. The Rotterdam mayor already spoke to new Justice Minister Ferdinand Grapperhaus about participating in the new government's regulated cannabis cultivation experiment. "I was one of the first mayors to talk to Minister of Justice Grapperhaus. We would love to be the first test municipality", he said when announcing Rotterdam's new cannabis policy in the city hall, AD reports.

The Yin Yang coffeeshop in the Spaarndammerbuurt in Amsterdam was targeted in a shooting during the early hours of Thursday morning. Bullet holes were found in the window when people started going to work on Thursday morning. No one was injured, a police spokesperson confirmed to Het Parool.

A local resident told the newspaper that three loud bangs woke him up around 4:00 a.m. "I thought of shots, but saw that it was so quiet on the street. A couple of students cheerily cycled by, so I thought it must've been something else. There was no corpse on the street after all", he said.

Little will change around illegal cannabis cultivation, even if the government changes the current tolerance policy, according to officials from the Ministries of Public Health and Security and Justice. The Dutch government is considering three scenarios: regulating both cannabis sales and cultivation, extending the tolerance policy to include growers, or a total ban on both growing and selling weed, NU.nl reports.

The police released footage of a shooting at Green Palace coffeeshop on Kloveniersburgwal in late September in the hopes that information from the public may lead to an arrest. The shooting happened at 4:15 a.m. on September 27th.

The footage show a man driving up on a gray scooter from the direction of the Nieuwmarkts. He pulls a gun from his bag and starts shooting. Something seems to be wrong with the gun and e calmly takes the time to solve the problem and resume his shooting.

The coffeeshop was hit at least once. It was closed at the time and no one was injured.

Amsterdam is concerned about a series of shootings at coffeeshops in the city. Earlier this week coffeeshop Vondel was closed down after a shooting, the 7th coffeeshop to be targeted in a shooting this past year. Two businesses were even targeted more than once.

Mayor Eberhard van der Laan called the shootings a direct threat to the neighborhood of the coffeeshops in a letter responding to questions from the D66, NOS reports. So far only one person was slightly injured in such a shooting. And in one case neighborhing properties were also hit.

Another coffeeshop was the target of an overnight shooting in Amsterdam. At least three shots were fired at coffeeshop Vondel on Overtoom during the early hours of Tuesday morning, AT5 reports.

The coffeeshop was already closed when the shooting happened. It is unclear whether anyone was still in the building. The police are at the scene investigating.

The police believe that six shootings at Amsterdam coffeeshops in less than a year's time may be connected, a spokesperson said to the Telegraaf. According to the police, it is "unlikely" that it involves six separate incidents.

Coffeeshop Green Place in Amsterdam was closed down indefinitely by Amsterdam mayor Eberhard van der Laan on Tuesday, the owner said to AT5. Earlier on Tuesday the coffeeshop was the target of a drive-by shooting.
