The Dutch minister of Foreign Affairs, Frans Timmermans (PvdA) will "shortly" be traveling to Saudi Arabia to try and find a solution for the conflict that arose around the anti-Islam sticker action of Geert Wilders. His spokesperson told press office Novum this morning that there are "good indications" that the conflict can be solved.

Minister Henk Kamp (Economic Affairs) has announced that businesses are already nervous about the possible sanctions that Saudi Arabia is allegedly going to impose on the Netherlands, Het Parool reports.

Saudi Arabia has begun imposing trade sanctions against companies based in the Netherlands in reaction to PVV-leader Geert Wilders' anti-Islam stickers. The measures will be imposed by declaration of King Abdullah, nu.nl reports.

Geert Wilders has incurred the wrath of Saudi Arabia. Last December the PVV-leader spread green anti-islam stickers that look like the Saudi Arabian flag. In place of the islamic creed, the text reads: 'Islam is a lie. Mohammed is a crook. The Qur'an is poison.' One of these stickers was sent to the Saudi embassy in The Hague with a letter.
