Dutch musician Andre Rieu is currently number one on the iTunes and Amazon hit lists in the United Kingdom with his Ode to Joy. UK residents are massively buying and streaming the song to protest against the Brexit, scheduled to happen on Friday, NU.nl reports.
Andre Rieu came to the rescue of a Haarlem brass band for people with mental disabilities. The band lost all their instruments in a theft this week. The world-famous Dutch violinist decided step in and replace all the stolen instruments, RTL Nieuws reports.
The brass band kept their instruments in a trailer. When they arrived at the trailer on Thursday morning, they found that someone had broken in and stolen all their instruments. Together the instruments were valued at around 20 thousand euros.
The municipality of Amsterdam paid residents of houses around De Nieuwe Kerk five hundred euros per house to leave during the inauguration.
Tickets for the King’s Ball, which will be held on Tuesday night at the Museumplein in Amsterdam, have not been sold out as there are still almost 250 tickets available, according to a spokesperson of the municipality of Amsterdam.
There were about 3,000 tickets, each at 10 euro, for seats at the grandstand at the Museumplein. For those who prefer to stand, listening to the concert is free.
