FvD documentary: Holocaust-denial, misogyny, conspiracy theories in far-right party

A new PowNed documentary on the far-right party Forum voor Democratie (FvD) has again revealed that the party is rife with conspiracy theories, misogyny, racism, and anti-Semitism. Leading figures within the party are accused of Holocaust denial, touting theories like population replacement, and working the political system to get as much money as possible out of it.

The PowNed journalists spoke with 20 people who were involved with the FvD and its youth movement JFvD for years. Four told their story on camera, including JfvD co-founder Yernaz Ramautarsing and former city councilor Ruby Pichel; the rest asked to remain anonymous. According to PowNed, they include several former prominent party figures.

They accuse well-known figures within the party, including founder Thiery Baudet and FvD NP Freek Jansen, of blatant antisemitism and racism. According to one former member, the FvD group chats often had claims that “Jews control the banks, media, and pornography to weaken the white race” and touted Nazi Germany as “the best economic model of the 20th century.”

Freek Jansen, an FvD parliamentarian regarded as a confidant of Baudet and one of the architects of the JFvD, is a Holocaust denier, several sources said in the documentary. “Freek Jansen comes across as a normal guy, but you gradually find out that he holds very dubious ideas,” said one.

The documentary confirms past reports of racism and far-right conspiracy theories and ideologies in the party. The “replacement theory” is a popular one among FvD members. The theory says that white Europeans are being deliberately replaced by immigrants. According to a source, the FvD believes that Jews want to “flood Western Europe with immigrants so that the white race dies out.”

The sources also again tied the FvD to the far-right movement Erkenbrand, which openly strives for a “pure white ethnostate in which there is no room for other races.” And they confirmed the misogyny. According to the sources, the FvD hired a “coach” to teach young members how to pick up women and encourage them to have sex with as many women as possible.

A new revelation is that the far-right party is only in politics for the money, according to several sources, including Ramautarsing. The parliamentary faction is constantly shifting with MPs’ departures and returns timed in such a way that they can get as much severance pay as possible.

“Forum is not a political party. It is a cult with a YouTube channel,” said Ramautarsing. “They earn millions of euros in subsidies. That is why they are in parliament. It is not about motions, laws, or majorities. It is about money to build up the movement further.”
