Woman found dead in Amsterdam’s Indische Buurt

A woman was found dead Friday evening inside a home on Madurastraat in Amsterdam’s Indische Buurt, prompting a police investigation and the closure of the surrounding area, AT5 reported.

The body was discovered shortly before 8 p.m., according to police. The cause of death reportedly remains unclear.

Forensic investigation teams were deployed to the scene, a step typically taken when authorities suspect the death may not be from natural causes.

Residents reported a heavy police presence. “There are many police cars and there is also a kind of police container in front of the door,” one neighbor told AT5. Another added, “They also came to the door here for a neighborhood investigation.”
