Video: Head-on collision in Zaandam leaves eight hurt, including three children

Eight people were injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles in Zaandam on Sunday evening. The victims were two families in two cars, including three children, a police spokesperson told the Telegraaf.

The accident happened at around 8:15 p.m. on Dr. J.M. de Uylweg. At least five ambulances and other emergency services responded to the scene.

All victims were taken to the hospital. One of the appeared to have sustained “more serious injuries,” the police spokesperson said.

The damage to the involved vehicles is extensive. The police cordoned off the road for investigation and cleanup
