Temps to hit double-digits in most places this weekend; Spring-like weather next week
Friday will be the last day of cold winter weather with snow in the Netherlands for a while. “This weekend will be noticeably mild,” Weeronline reported. Maximums will hit double digits in most places. Next week could warm up even more with some sunny weather and maximums up to 18 degrees.
But first, a cloudy and rainy Friday, with some snow possible in the northeast. Maximums will climb to between 3 and 8 degrees, with a dry spell in the afternoon making way for more rain tonight.
Over the weekend, a strong westerly to southwesterly wind will bring moist, mild air into the Netherlands.
Saturday will still be cloudy with periods of rain. In many places, maximums will reach 10 or 11 degrees Celsius, with only the north not quite hitting double digits. In the south, thermometers could even hit 12 degrees in some places. “A moderate to strong wind will blow from the west to southwest,” Weeronline meteorologist Matthijs van der Linden said. “If the sun does break through, the weather will suddenly be pleasant.”
Sunday will be even milder, with temperatures reaching 9 to 13 degrees. “It will be cloudy with periods of rain, and there will be a moderate to strong southwesterly wind. If the sun does break through, it will be in the northwest in the late afternoon,” Van der Linden said.
The mild weather will stick around after the weekend. The week will start with a mix of showers and dry spells with sunshine. “Midweek, it could warm up even more with sunny weather, and then we can expect the first day of spring weather,” Van der Linden said. “Inland, it will then be 15 to 18 degrees.”
