Dutch model Sylvia Geersen also mentioned in the Epstein files
In addition to Yfke Sturm, Dutch model Sylvia Geersen has also surfaced in the Epstein files. The Rotterdam woman told the Telegraaf that Jeffrey Epstein regularly contacted her almost 20 years ago. She said he regularly overstepped her boundaries, asked her to introduce her model friends to him, and once even masturbated in front of her.
According to Geersen, her contact with Epstein started out fine, but became increasingly strained. Once, she was in his New York apartment, and he masturbated in front of her, she told the newspaper. “He didn’t lay a finger on me at the time, but he did things right in front of me that left me in shock,” she said. “I was 21 and completely overwhelmed by what I experienced. I never dared to talk to anyone about what happened during that period. It was traumatic.”
Geersen, now 40, was young and alone in New York at the time, and Epstein offered her support. “He was kind, helped me with modeling, gave me advice, and arranged a breast reduction with the best surgeon in New York, because that would be better for me as a Victoria’s Secret model. That’s how he manipulated me,” she said. “That was all before that incident. It shocked me, and I tried to keep my distance more and more.”
Epstein started demanding things from her, including that she introduce him to her model friends. He complained that he did so much for her, and she refused to cooperate. “He became quite pusy and asked me why I didn’t arrange girls from Holland, “ Geersen told the Telegraaf. “Of course, I never did. I didn’t know any better than he was looking for girls for his modeling agency.”
Geersen called it incredibly upsetting to be confronted with this again so many years later. “It’s truly traumatic for me. So much is happening in my life right now,” she said. “Last week everything seemed so rosy, but right now my life has been completely turned upside down.”
Earlier on Monday, another Dutch model, Yfke Sturm, also surfaced in the Epstein files. Her name appears dozens of times in the convicted child sex abuser’s documents. The two had intensive contact between 2012 and 2016. She responded later on Monday, calling her contact with Epstein a “serious misjudgement” in hindsight.
“Above all, my thoughts go out to the women and girls who were harmed,” Sturm, 44, said in a written statement to RTL Boulevard. “I believe them, I support them, and I unequivocally condemn the abuse they experienced. Nothing in this statement is intended to minimize the seriousness of these crimes or the lasting impact on survivors.”
