Showers and storms to give way to dryer, but still cold, weather from Friday
The Netherlands is in for wet and cold weather today and tomorrow. On Friday, the weather will shift to drier days, with more sunshine, but still quite cold, according to the meteorological institute KNMI.
Wednesday will see showers, thunderstorms, hail, and gusty winds, especially along the coast. The afternoon will gradually turn drier, especially in the north and west, and not so much along the southwest coast. Maximums will climb to around 6 degrees.
This evening will see a few showers again along the coast, but inland should be dry. In the overnight hours, the coastal showers will turn into thunderstorms in some places. Minimums will range between 5 degrees near the coast and -2 degrees in the east of the country.
Thursday will start with occasional sunshine, but by the afternoon, cloud cover will predominate. “There will be showers and an increasing chance of wet snow. There is also a chance of thunderstorms and hail at the coast.” Maximums will climb no higher than 5 degrees, with a light to moderate wind from various directions.
From Friday, the weather will be quite cold with light frost at night and in the early mornings. “Initially, it will remain dry,” the KNMI said. The southern parts of the country can expect occasional rain or wet snow on Sunday and Monday. Maximums will hover around 5 or 6 degrees Celsius, a few degrees below the long-term average, which is 8.2 degrees for late November.
