French man, 24, seventh suspect arrested in connection with Hoofddorp woman’s abduction
Police have arrested a seventh suspect in connection with the abduction of a 49-year-old woman from Hoofddorp, the officers reported. The latest arrest involves a 24-year-old man from Loos, near Lille in northern France.
Previously, authorities had taken into custody five Dutch nationals and one Belgian. Authorities have also recovered the car used in the abduction.
The woman left for work on Wednesday when she was abducted. Her vehicle was found on Friday in Nieuw-Vennep, about ten minutes from her home. She returned safely to her residence Sunday evening, and police said she is in good health.
The police have not disclosed where the woman was held or the circumstances of her return. They said the abduction was linked to an international dispute among hard-drug criminals and that she was used as leverage.
