Woman, 49, abducted while driving to work from Hoofddorp

Authorities have launched a large-scale investigation into the abduction of a 49-year-old woman from Hoofddorp, who disappeared on Wednesday morning while driving to work in Beverwijk.

The woman left her home on Mosselplaat in Hoofddorp around 8:30 a.m. in a black BMW 530e with license plate G-241-ZP, according to police. She never arrived at her workplace. Authorities now assume she was abducted, though the exact location and circumstances of the kidnapping remain unclear.

“We still have many questions,” a police spokesperson told NU.nl. The spokesperson declined to say why investigators are confident it involves an abduction. “That is all part of the ongoing investigation.”

Multiple investigative teams have been working intensively on the case since the woman was reported missing. A specialized large-scale investigation unit has also been deployed to coordinate the search.

Police are urgently appealing for public assistance. Anyone who witnessed anything unusual on or near Mosselplaat in Hoofddorp on Wednesday morning, or who may have relevant doorbell, dashcam, or security camera footage, is asked to contact the police immediately at 0800-6070. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Meld Misdaad Anoniem at 0800-7000 or confidentially via the Team Criminele Inlichtingen at 088-6617734, referencing case number 2025235066.
