32-year-old man killed, 33-year-old woman wounded in Sneek shooting

A 32-year-old man was killed and a 33-year-old woman left in critical condition after a shooting in Sneek, police said. Authorities suspect the man shot the woman before dying himself.

According to Leeuwarder Courant, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. last night in a flat on Furmerusstraat. Both victims are from Sneek. Emergency crews found them in the gallery of the building.

Multiple ambulances and a trauma helicopter were dispatched to the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police launched a forensic investigation immediately after the shooting. The area around the apartment building was cordoned off for evidence gathering.
