Six hurt in multi-car pile-up after police chase in Zwolle

Six people were injured in a car accident following a police chase in Zwolle on Monday evening. Three cars were involved in the collision. The police arrested one of the drivers for driving under the influence and without a license.

A police spokesperson told NU.nl that officers tried to pull over a car for a check because they suspected the driver was driving without a license. The man ignored the police’s instructions and sped away. The officers gave chase.

After a short chase, the fleeing driver collided with two other cars at the intersection of Zwartewaterallee and Rijnlaan. That brought the fleeing car to a stop. The police arrested the driver, and he was taken away by ambulance.

Paramedics took six people to the hospital for treatment following the accident. It is unclear whether the driver was one of those hurt. The police did not disclose any details about the nature or severity of their injuries.
