Three injured in multi-van crash on A27 near Eemnes
A collision involving three vans occurred early Saturday morning on the shoulder of the A27 near the Eemnes interchange, leaving three people injured. Emergency responders faced significant challenges freeing the driver trapped inside one of the vehicles, according to NU.nl.
According to a police spokesperson, all three injured were transported to the hospital, with two sustaining what are believed to be serious injuries.
The crash involved a black van with a flat tire that was stopped on the shoulder, being assisted by a second van from a tire service company when a third van collided with both.
Rescue teams took approximately 45 minutes to extricate the driver from the last van. A trauma helicopter was also deployed. After treatment on-site, the injured were escorted by police to the hospital via road transport. The A27 was closed for a period between the Eemnes exit and the interchange to allow emergency services to work.
