Three Dutch women seriously injured in car crash in German town of Emmerik

Three Dutch women were seriously injured Saturday in a collision between two cars in the German town of Emmerik, near the Dutch border, NU.nl reported.

Two of the victims — a 52-year-old woman and her 21-year-old daughter — are in critical condition, according to German police.

The third passenger, a 19-year-old woman who was also in the car with them, suffered serious injuries but is not in life-threatening condition.

The crash happened around 10:55 a.m. at an intersection when the 52-year-old Dutch driver reportedly failed to yield to another vehicle. That car, driven by a 48-year-old man from Emmerik, also left him seriously injured.

Police in Germany said they are still investigating the cause of the accident.
