Taxi shot at on A13 highway in Rotterdam after chase, collision with another car
A taxi was shot at on the A13 highway in Rotterdam during the early hours of Tuesday morning. According to Rijnmond, the taxi was chased by a car with Belgian license plates. The shooting happened after the two cars collided, the broadcaster’s correspondents said.
The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m., just past the Kleinpolderplein junction. It is unclear whether anyone got hurt. The taxi did suffer quite a bit of damage, including a bullet hole, shattered windows, and a loose rear bumper.
No arrests have been made. The police searched the area around the incident, also deploying a helicopter and sniffer dogs. The Belgian car was found empty on a street in the east of The Hague.
The police closed the A13 between the Kleinpolderplein junction and Rotterdam The Hague Airport, towards The Hague, for investigation. The highway reopened around 7:00 a.m.
