Police looking for six men in 18-year-old’s murder in Alkmaar; €15,000 reward
Police suspect a group of six men of being involved in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Freek Postma in Alkmaar. The Public Prosecution Service will reward anyone with information that could to an arrest in the case with 15,000 euros. Security camera footage was shown in the TV show Opsporing Verzocht, on Tuesday.
The victim from Herbaijum, Friesland, was found in a garden on the Baansingel in November 2023. According to police, Postman had visited an acquaintance who lived next door shortly before his death.
Police had received a report regarding a conflict between several people inside the home at 5:15 p.m. Shots had also been heard by nearby residents. A group of men broke into the home while Postma was inside. He tried to flee, but he was shot from close range.
Several suspects then fled the scene of the crime in a car. They headed north, possibly to Friesland, police have said. Investigators also suspect two men who were seen on a scooter nearby of being involved in the shooting.
According to the police, Postma’s death was possible due to a conflict in the drug trafficking scene. He sold narcotics in Leeuwarden and Alkmaar.
A 58-year-old from Alkmaar was arrested in the evening after the shooting. But he was released after an investigation proved that he had no involvement with the murder.
