Oosterhout men identified as victims in fatal shooting; third fighting for life
Two Oosterhout men, both 32 years old, were killed in a shooting on Friday afternoon, and a third man, 25, is fighting for his life in the hospital. All three victims are from Oosterhout, Noord-Brabant, and the police are working to determine the motive behind the attack.
The incident occurred just before 4 p.m. on Loevesteinlaan, when gunshots were fired at a vehicle containing the two 32-year-old victims. Both men sustained severe injuries, and one died shortly after. The third victim, who was critically wounded, was found a short distance away on Sint Antoniusstraat. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The police are actively investigating the shooting and are seeking assistance from witnesses who may have security camera footage from the area. Authorities are urging residents in the vicinity of Loevesteinlaan and Sint Antoniusstraat to come forward if they have any relevant information.
The identities of the victims have not been officially released, though local reports indicate the 32-year-olds were known to have connections to criminal activities. The investigation is ongoing, with police focusing on uncovering any suspects involved in the shooting. De Telegraaf, citing multiple sources, reported that one of the deceased, known as "Bandi," had ties to the drug trade. The seriously injured man who later died was reportedly his nephew.
Police also condemned the circulation of graphic images of the shooting online. "Sharing these images is not only disrespectful but also deeply painful for the victims' families," a police spokesperson said. Authorities have urged the public to respect the privacy of those involved.
