Rotterdam police have received "very valuable tips" about man accused of sexual assault

The Rotterdam police have received “several very valuable” tips about a man who sexually assaulted several women in December in the city center and Rotterdam-Noord. The police would not share information about where the tips came from.

"There have been five reports of assault so far, and we will be taking a sixth report later on Thursday," a police spokesperson said. The police have also received several new reports of women being attacked since last week. At that time, there were six reports of assault.

Dozens of tips have come in after police released clear images of the suspect last week. The man has not been arrested as of yet. The suspicion is that all the sexual assault cases were perpetrated by him.

Shared images show that the man, with an estimated age of between 25 and 40 years old, has dark hair, a mustache and beard, and uses a bicycle.

"Most tips are now being followed up, and new tips are still welcome," the spokesperson said. Women in Rotterdam have already been warned to be extra alert.
