Teen girl stabbed multiple times in Breda, police arrest one suspect
A 16-year-old girl was injured Monday morning in a stabbing incident on Heksenwiellaan in Breda. According to police, the girl was stabbed multiple times by a man passing by on the street.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Police Breda wrote: "The minor was stabbed multiple times near Heksenwiellaan. She has been transported to the hospital. One suspect has been detained."
An onlooker discovered the girl around 8:30 a.m. lying near her bicycle in the vicinity of Heksenwiellaan. Police have yet to determine the exact location of the stabbing or what type of weapon was used. "We are not sharing any details about the weapon at this stage due to the ongoing investigation," a police spokesperson said Monday morning, according to Omroep Brabant.
The girl was taken to the hospital with injuries but was reported to be conscious. A local resident told Omroep Brabant that he saw the girl lying in a ditch near the street and that she was able to walk into the ambulance on her own.
Police have confirmed the arrest of a male suspect but have not ruled out additional arrests. "We are asking people to remain vigilant. It’s unclear if the man we are questioning is indeed the perpetrator," said the police spokesperson.
