PSV dominate again; AZ and Utrecht continue to have a good start

PSV dominated again in the Eredivisie with a comfortable 3-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday. The reigning champions are top of the Eredivisie table after four matches played having won all their fixtures.

The home side was given an early scare when Go Ahead scored after just a minute of playing. However, Mathis Suray's goal was disallowed for offside.

Although PSV manager Peter Bosz spoke of a bad start from his side after the match, they actually scored their first goal after just ten minutes. Guus Til took a touch in the box before putting it into the bottom corner.

They made it 2-0 in the 27th minute. Luuk de Jong played the ball into the path of Hirving Lozano who placed it into the net to score his fourth goal of the season.

Luuk de Jong was forced to come off the pitch in the first half with an injury, and his replacement, Ricard Pepi, nearly made an impression in the 53rd minute, but his shot went off after hitting the crossbar.

The third PSV goal was their best of the day. Malik Tillman spun inside of his opponent before playing a great pass to Joey Veerman in the box, who side-footed it home.

PSV, who won the Dutch league title last season while only losing one game, have continued their dominance this season. Bosz's side have conceded just three goals while scoring 18 times in their four matches. Go Ahead Eagles have not made as good of a start with one win in their first four games.

Another team that has made a good start to the season is AZ Alkmaar. The Alkmaarders beat RKC 0-3 away on Friday night.

Ruben van Bommel had his first chance at the match after 14 minutes, but he hit the post with his attempt. But the winger scored anyway in the 30th minute after a low cross from Ibrahim Sadiq.

He got his second six minutes later. A long ball found the 20-year-old, and he calmly controlled it before passing it into the far corner.

The second half had a bizarre start as experienced RKC striker Michiel Kramer deliberately elbowed AZ right back Seiya Maikuma. The offense should have been a straight red, but Kramer was sent off anyway when he did it again in the 72nd minute.

Young forward Mexx Meerdink got his first Eredivisie goal in the match's closing stages to make it 0-3 and finish the scoring.

AZ are second in the league table having won three out of their first four matches. RKC, however, is bottom of the league, having conceded 12 goals in four games and lost them all.

FC Utrecht is level on points with AZ after beating FC Twente on Sunday. Former Utrecht striker Sam Lammers had given Twente the lead, but goals from Jens Toornstra and Can Bozdogan gave Utrecht the win.
