Police volunteer arrested for "sexually suggestive contact" with minors, child porn

The police arrested a police employee on Wednesday on suspicion of “sexually suggestive contact with minors” and possession of child pornography. The suspect is a police volunteer and has been suspended, the police said.

The police received a report about possible inappropriate contact between the police employee from the Midden-Nederland unit and an underage boy. The sex crime department launched an investigation, also seizing the man’s data carriers.

A technical investigation into those data carriers prompted the 36-year-old man’s arrest on Wednesday. He is in custody for further investigation and has been suspended from the police service.

The police did not say how many minors the man allegedly had contact with or exactly what that contact entailed.
