Homes damaged by explosion in Amersfoort

An explosion occurred at a house on the Keerkring in Amersfoort on Sunday morning, a police spokesperson confirmed after reports from RTV Utrecht. The house and a neighboring house were damaged, but no one was injured.

Around 4:30 a.m., an Amersfoort resident woke up to a loud bang and called the police. At the scene, the officers discovered that the house had been damaged. Luckily, no one was home at the time of the explosion.

According to the police, the house's front door and shutters were damaged by the explosion, RTV Utrecht reported. In addition, the windows of the neighboring house were shattered, according to a photographer who was at the scene.

The police have been investigating the damaged house since Sunday morning. The immediate vicinity has been cordoned off, the broadcaster reported. The police are asking witnesses to come forward.
