Party leaders will continue discussing candidate for Dutch Prime Minister on Monday

The party leaders of PVV, VVD, NSC, and BBB will continue discussing the prime minister's candidate for a new Cabinet on Monday morning. They will do this with formation leader Richard van Zwol. However, it is still unclear when the parties will present a candidate.

Geert Wilders (PVV), Dilan Yesilgöz (VVD), Pieter Omtzigt (NSC), and Caroline van der Plas (BBB) will resume the discussions at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. Last week, it was mutually agreed to remain silent about the discussions about the leader of the new Cabinet.

PVV leader Wilders previously had Ronald Plasterk (PvdA) in mind, but he announced on Monday that he was no longer available for the premiership after discussion arose about how he allegedly enriched himself by claiming patents on medical research. A study into this by the University of Amsterdam (UvA) is ongoing.
