Multiple people stabbed by Hudson's Bay dept. store in The Hague

Three people were hurt in a stabbing on the Grote Marktstraat at the Hudson's Bay in Den Haag, police said. The incident happened on Friday night while shoppers in the area filled the street searching for Black Friday sales.

No suspects were in custody two hours after the violence took place. Police were searching for a male between 45 and 50 years of age, with slightly tanned skin, though it was not immediately clear if he was a suspect in the case. He was wearing a black jacket and a scarf over a gray track suit.

"We are doing an extensive investigation into the stabbing incident on the Grote Marktstraat," police said in a statement. "We understand that there are many questions," police added, saying they would release more information as it becomes available.

The first reports of a stabbing were made to emergency services at about 7:45 p.m. Police, ambulances and a trauma helicopter were dispatched within minutes. The call was elevated to a GRIP 1 emergency alarm by 7:55 p.m., which calls for all responding personnel to work under a single commanding officer. Procedure states that communication is established between the command post, area mayors, policymakers, and the regional leadership of the police, fire department, and public health officials.

Witnesses who saw anything, and people with video or photos from the scene were being asked to contact police immediately.
