Defense employee in custody for rape: report.

A 36-year-old Defense employee was arrested early in April for a serious violent crime in Oudenbosch. He is suspected of tricking his way into a young woman's home, tying her up and raping her, the Telegraaf reported on Friday.

The Dutch man lives just over the Belgian border in Loenhout. According to the newspaper, he was a guard at highly sensitive Defense complexes, including the headquarters of the Air Force in Breda and the barracks of the Corps Commandos. The man is not a soldier, but a civilian employee of the Defense Surveillance and Security Operation. He previously also worked for the Koninklijke Marechaussee, according to the Telegraaf.

The victim in this case is a young woman. On March 21st, she was home alone when a man rang her door bell early in the afternoon. He talked his way inside the house. He then tied up the young woman and raped her.

The suspect was arrested on April 9th. He was caught on surveillance camera in the area, and that image of him was spread on detection programs Opsporing Verzocht and Bureau Brabant. An anonymous tip finally led the police to the man's Loenhout home. He was extradited to the Netherlands the same week of his arrest and is currently in custody awaiting trial.
