Young woman stabbed to death in Rotterdam home

A 21-year-old woman was stabbed in her home on Kerklaan in the Rotterdam district of Kralingen on Wednesday afternoon. She succumbed to her injuries a short time later. The police responded to the home after reports of a fight.

Officers arrived at the home at around 12:30 p.m. and found the injured woman inside, the police said in a statement. They tried to resuscitate her, but it was to no avail. She died at the scene.

Investigation led the police to a 23-year-old suspect, who was on a train to Eindhoven at that time. He was arrested upon his arrival at Eindhoven station. The victim and perpetrator lived in the same block and knew each other, the police said.

The police are investigating what happened.
