Amsterdam shooting leaves one dead, one hurt, one arrested

One person was killed and another injured in a shooting on Krootstraat in Amsterdam Zuidoost on Wednesday night. A possible suspect was arrested, the police said in a statement.

The shooting happened around 11:10 p.m. The wounded victim was rushed to hospital in unknown condition. "The other victim, despite intensive resuscitation, unfortunately died", the police said.

The police closed down the area around the shooting for investigation. Exactly what happened is not yet clear. No details about the victims' and suspect's identities were released.
