Gunmen at large after Amsterdam home invasion shooting

The police are looking for two gunmen involved in a home invasion on IJplein in Amsterdam during which shots were fired on Monday morning. No one was injured in the shooting, the police said in a statement.

Two men forced their way into a home on IJplein around 9:25 a.m. on Monday. They fled with an amount of money. The victim chased after the robbers, who fired multiple shots at the victim.

Witnesses told the police that one of the perpetrators may have fled in a delivery van. The police arrested the driver of a delivery van that matched the description in the Coentunnel on the A10 a short time later. He pulled the van over when he saw several police cars behind him. "Investigation must show whether he was involved in the incident on IJplein", the police said.

The police call on witnesses to come forward. They also call on the public to keep an eye out for the two gunmen. Both men have tanned skin, are about 24 years old and around 1.7 meters tall. One wore a dark colored hat, a dark coat and jeans. The other wore a short bomber jacket and a cap.
