Woman found murdered in Rotterdam home; man arrested
A woman was found dead in a home on Mathenesserweg in Rotterdam on Monday afternoon. The police believe she was killed in a crime. One man was arrested, the police said in a statement.
The victim still has to be formally identified, but the police believe she is the 39-year-old resident of the first floor home. The police responded to the home around 4:15 p.m. after other people in the home called emergency number 112.
A 60-year-old man from Rotterdam was arrested on suspicion of involvement in her death. Three other people in the home when the police arrived - another man and two women - were taken to the police station to give statements. According to newspaper AD, a baby in a pram also went along.
How the woman died was not revealed by the police. Witnesses told AD that shots were fired.
The home was closed down as a crime scene and a forensic team was sent to investigate.
Investigators call on anyone with information related to this murder to make contact with the police.
