Coolblue CEO robbed, assaulted in Rotterdam

Pieter Zwart, CEO of Coolblue, was assaulted and robbed near the Hotel New York in Rotterdam on Friday night. Zwart was treated in hospital and was then allowed to go home, RTV Rijnmond reports.

A 23-year-old man with no fixed place of residence was arrested. A second suspect fled.

Why Zwart was attacked is not yet known. According to the police, he was hit on the head and lost consciousness for a time. A person who tried to help him, was also attacked.

Zwart, 41, founded Coolblue in 1999. The company is one of the largest online stores in the Netherlands, and also has a few ordinary shops. Coolblue's head office is in Rotterdam.
