Police car gets stuck in newly poured concrete in Eindhoven

A police officer in Eindhoven got his car stuck in a layer of newly poured concrete on Thursday. He was driving on a closed construction site, where a bus stop's paving was being replaced, when he drove right into the concrete, Johan de Krom of the responsible contractor company De Krom B.V. said to Omroep Brabant.

"We just finished the job and put our van at the front of the concrete so that no one could get through, but that police car just drove around us", De Krom said. The contractor and his colleague pulled the stuck police car out with their van.

Why the officer was driving there, is not clear. "It's a business park where nobody can come at this moment. A bit further on they're renovating the bridge. The officer still asked when it will open, then he left."

The contractors had to re-pour part of the concrete layer. "Of course it's extra costs for us, we would like to claim the damage", De Krom said to the broadcaster. The police officer initially refused to fill in a claim form, but the company is now in contact with the police. De Krom is confident that the matter will be settled well.
