Five stowaways found in truck in Terneuzen

The Terneuzen police found five stowaways, three men and two women, in the back of a truck on Tuessday. One man is from Ethiopia, the rest are from Eritrea, NOS reports.

The truck, with a Spanish driver, was traveling to Vlissingen. While it was driving through th Sluiskil tunnel, one of the stowaways poked his head through the sail on top of the truck and was spotted by a special detection system.

All five stowaways tried to flee, but the police caught up with them. The truck driver was also taken to a police station to make a statement. The stowaways were ordered to leave European territory within 28 days.
