Amsterdam neighborhood rocked by car bomb explosion
Amsterdam-West was woken by an explosion around 1:00 a.m. on Monday morning. An explosive was placed under a car on Van Reigersbergenstraat. No one was injured when it went off, the police said on Twitter.
The bottom of the car was damaged, according to AD. Some surrounding windows were also shattered.
What type of explosive was used is unclear. The police released no information about the circumstances surrounding the explosion. More information is expected during the course of Monday.
