Jammed gun prevents Zeist terrace shooting

Panic broke out when a man pulled a gun on a terrace full of people in Zeist on Tuesday night. He tried to shoot someone, but his gun wouldn't work, witnesses told RTV Utrecht.

The incident happened at the terrace of café De Reünie terrace on Slotlaan in Zeist around 9:45 p.m. The police closed down and evacuated the terrace and surrounding buildings. Officers in bulletproof vests investigated and spoke to witnesses, according to NOS.

One person was arrested. His involvement in the incident is unclear.

De Reünie confirmed the event on Facebook, writing that it and other businesses "fell victim to an incident by a number of people".
