Electric car charging points still needed in many Dutch cities, rural areas

While many Dutch cities and rural areas are working on making electric driving easy and accessible, most still need more charging points for electric cars, according to a survey by consulting firm Over Morgen. In 2016 most Dutch municipalities did not have a sufficient number of charging stations, BNR reports.

The large Dutch cities in particular are working on catching up. This year electric car drivers can have the easiest time in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and the Hague. Utrecht is in 6th place on the national rankings of sufficient electric car charging points. Of the 30 large cities in the Netherlands, Amersfoort, Emmen, Enschede and Venlo are at the bottom of the list.
