Loose safety strap leaves woman dangling on Amsterdam fair attraction

Panicky moments at the fair on Amsterdam's Dam square on Tuesday - a loose safety strap on the Bungee catapult ride resulted in a woman dangling from the ride as it went up and down. An extra strap prevented her from falling. A video of the incident shows the woman dangling loose in her seat, screaming.

The Bungee Catapult is an attraction in which two people sit next two each other in a metal ball and a giant rubber band launches them into the air.

The owner of the attraction told AT5 that the woman came loose because she had her hands and feet in the wrong positions. When she tried to correct this, she touched the knob that opens the clip.

The Dutch food and consumer product safety authority NVWA ruled this an isolated incident, which means that the ride can remain open. According to the NVWA, the Bungee Catapult was tested and all certificates are in order. The ride was tested again on Wednesday.
