Driver's warned of low visibility, dangerous conditions

Motorists will face a difficult morning rush hour in the central and southern parts of the Netherlands on Monday due to thick mists and dangerous conditions. Meteorological institute KNMI issued a code yellow weather warning, warning that visibility may be reduced to less than 200 meters in some places.

"Dangerous driving conditions due to poor visibility. Adjust speed and keep a safe distance. Mist can be treacherous by sudden onset. Folow weather forecasts and warnings", the KNMI advises. The mist is expected to dissipate during the course of the morning.

The KNMI expects the rest of the day to be cloudy, though the sun may break through for short periods. Afternoon temperatures will be around 8 degrees. There may be some rainfall throughout Monday night and minimum temperatures will range from 4 degrees in the east to around 9 degrees along the coast.
