Several people hit by train in Nijmegen
A train hit several pedestrians at a crossing in Nijmegen on Monday morning. Two people were killed, according to the police.
It is currently still unclear what exactly happened - whether this was an accident or a planned action, AD reports. No cars were involved, only the train and several pedestrians, a spokesperson for the police said to the newspaper.
Emergency services are at the scene. Traffic over the S100 is being diverted. The municipality also closed several streets around the scene of the accident.
Train traffic between Nijmegen and Cuijk was brought to a halt. Train travelers should take delay so between 30 and 60 minutes into account. Veolia is using buses to transport stranded passengers.
