Mistaken identity suspected in Amsterdam parking lot assassination

The police is "seriously considering" that 31-year-old Djordy Latumahina was not the intended target of the assassination in which he was killed in Amsterdam Nieuw-West on October 8th, police chief Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg said to AT5. The police chief also said that this is a "serious case that motivates investigators to work very hard on it". A massive 40 people are involved in the case - double the number that makes up a standard large-scale investigation team. Latumahina was shot and killed in the car park below his home last Saturday. His girlfriend was seriously injured. Their 2-year-old daughter witnessed the shooting, but escaped physically unharmed. Djordy was one of four people killed in separate shootings in the Dutch capital in a week's time. This new breakout of violence prompted Amsterdam politicians to call for more and better trained police officers on the city's streets.
