Police search pond for evidence in 2012 murder

Using specialist equipment, divers and sniffer dogs, the police are searching a pond in Stevensweert today for evidence in the murder of Andy de Heus. De Heus' body was found in the pond in February. The police are hoping to find trace evidence that may be important for the investigation into De Heus' death. The investigation at the pond is expected to take all day. De Heus disappeared in December 2012. His car was later found burnt out in Belgium. For years there was no trace of him, until new tips led the police to his body in the fish pond in February this year. The police believe he was murdered. So far three people were arrested and then released in this case. A fourth suspect is currently in a German prison on drug-related charges, according to broadcaster NOS.
