Reward offered in Amsterdam decapitation murder; video set for release

A 20 thousand euro reward was issued for for information in the case surrounding the assassination of Amsterdam man Nabil Amzieb, whose severed head was found outside a shisha lounge in the capital on March 9th. The police will also be releasing new surveillance camera footage of the crime on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday. The new footage was recorded by surveillance cameras on Mijehof in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost. It shows the Volkswagen Caddy with Amzieb's decapitated body being parked and later set on fire, spokesperson for the Amsterdam police Ellie Lust confirmed to the Telegraaf. "On the footage from a private security camera you can see how someone sets fire to the Caddy. We hope that someone will recognize this person and make contact with us", Lust said tot he newspaper. Amzieb's decapitated body was discovered in the burning Caddy on Mijehof on March 8th. His severed head was found the following morning, in front of the now closed Fayrouz Lounge on Amstelveenseweg. The police already released footage showing the man who left the head on the street, but so far that footage did not bring in any useful information. An extra large investigation team is working on the murder case. It is believed that Amzieb became a victim of the gang war raging in Amsterdam over the past years. Amzieb's crime record does not show any serious offenses, but he did know some of the key players in the gang war.
