Rotterdam boy, 6, rescues baby sister from car fire

The Charlois unit of the Rotterdam police named a 6-year-old boy a hero for rescuing his baby sister from a car fire. The kids mother parked the car on the Biezeveld in Rotterdam and asked the boy to stay in the car with his 9-month-old sister while she quickly went to get something from inside the house. While the mother was away, the car suddenly caught fire. The boy did not hesitate for a second. He got out of the car and ran to fetch his mother, who managed to get the baby out of the car seat. According to the police, this big brother's actions is the reason there were no serious injuries in the car fire. The baby girl did inhale some smoke and was treated by an ambulance crew. The police gave the boy a trauma-bear stuffed animal to thank him for his heroic actions. According to them, the boy is "very proud".
