Amsterdam murder suspect caught in Irish mob’s Dublin safe house

Amsterdam murder suspect Naoufal F. was arrested in Ireland last week. He was caught in a luxury apartment in Dublin which is linked to the Kinahan organized crime gang. F. was a suspect in two Amsterdam assassinations, but never prosecuted due to insufficient evidence. According to Irish news agency RTE, F. was caught in the luxury apartment wearing 800 euro shoes and a watch worth more than 40 thousand euros. Two more watches wort about 43 thousand euros and almost 13 thousand euros in cash were found in the apartment. A fake Dutch passport and a fake Belgian identity card, both in the name of Omar Gazoui, were also found. The Kinahan gang is involved in a drug-related feud with a rival gang around the Hutch family, which cost the live of at least 5 people over recent months. F. was identified through Interpol based on his fingerprints. He is facing six charges, including possession of false documents, which in Ireland carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. On Friday an Irish court refused F. bail and remanded him back into custody until his next hearing, scheduled for April 22nd. According to broadcaster NOS, in the Netherlands F. is connected to the Staatsliedenbuurt assassinations in 2012. The Staatsliedenbuurt shootout, in which two criminals were killed, is widely seen as the incident that officially started the Amsterdam gang war. The Dutch judiciary was never able to find enough evidence to prosecute F. The Public Prosecutor in Amsterdam could not confirm the arrest to the broadcaster. According to a spokesperson, the Prosecutor was not informed about the arrest as there is no ongoing investigation against F.
