New Utrecht suspect confesses to multiple rapes since 2010

A 22 year old man from Utrecht confessed to raping multiple women in the city over the past years. The suspect made his confession after being arrested two months ago in connection with a rape case dating from 2012. The police made this case public on television program Goedemorgen Nederland on Tuesday morning. They hope that the broadcast will encourage victims to come forward. The police are looking specifically for three women who were raped in the period between march 2014 and December 2015. The man was arrested on suspicion that he raped a woman in August 2010. He was 17 at the time. His victim was rollerblading along the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal when he attacked her with a knife. The cold case team managed to create a full profile of the suspect and getting a hit in the database after reopening the case.
