Manslaughter charge for driver in fatal A2 high-speed crash

The Public Prosecutor is pressing charges of manslaughter and attempted manslaughter against the man responsible for the fatal accident on the A2 highway near Maarssen last week. He was arraigned in hospital on Saturday, according to NOS. The 46 year old Amsterdam man crashed into the back of another vehicle while driving at very high speeds on the A2 on Wednesday. A man from Den Helder was killed, according to RTV Utrecht. His partner ended up in a coma in AMC Amsterdam. Two other adults and three children were injured. According to eyewitnesses the man drove at speeds upwards of 200 kilometers per hour.
