Benefits agency UWV hit in web outage, extends deadlines

A website problem at benefits agency UWV left benefit recipients unable to update their work data in order to receive their benefits. The UWV extended the deadline for these updates to the end of the and promises that all benefits will be paid by December 14th at the latest. The web outage hit the UWV on Tuesday morning. The problem is still not completely resolved. Since July 1st all benefit recipients have to report all income they earned at the start of each month before their benefits are paid. Once their data is updated, it takes a few days for the benefit payment to be processed. This means that some people may have to wait a few extra days this month. According to the UWV, the affected portion of the site, Mijn UWV, is accessible to a limited extent and some benefit recipients are managing to update their data.
